The home has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths. The main level has a full kitchen, dining area and living room with high log beamed ceilings, view windows, cozy stone fireplace and patio doors to a wrap around deck. Master bedroom and bath are on the main level with patio doors to a private deck. The second floor has loft area overlooking living room, 2 bedrooms and a full bath. Each bedroom has patio doors to its own private balcony. The walk-out basement has a large family room with wet bar, pool table and patio doors to a covered patio, 1 bedroom and a full bath.

Almost everything will work again if you unplug it for a few minutes. Even You! In the midst of this chaotic world, take some time to unwind at our log cabin retreat. Read a book, play a game, drink some wine and just reconnect with others and yourself. Your getaway is located south of Custer, SD - minutes to Wind Cave National Park and Custer State Park. It sits on 10 acres and is private; bordered on one side by National Forest. There is about a mile of well maintained gravel road to get to the property. (even your smart car could make it!) There are no other visible houses except for a roofline in the distance. It is very private. There is a second structure you will see in the photos which is our private garage used for storage only. There is no internet or wifi, cable, or cell service here, but don't fear - we have a land line for emergencies or if you need to make long distance calls be sure to bring a calling card. There is also cell service available by just driving down the road a mile or so. No wifi enables you to relax in the hammock, read a book, chat or play games, or take a walk in the adjoining National Forest. Your retreat has 2 small bedrooms with queen beds and a small loft with a full size futon. Two bathrooms with showers (no tub) and a laundry area. It can sleep 6 but we do have a smaller water heater so showers will need to planned accordingly. The wonderful enclosed sun porch is perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee and taking in the view. The kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, silverware, toaster, coffee maker, etc. (there is NO dishwasher) The wood stove in living room allows for fun and warm evenings of playing games. We do have a TV (no cable) to enjoy an occasional DVD. We provide linens, coffee, a grill and more. Dining area off the living room seats 6. There is also a gas fire pit to enjoy in the evenings (we do not provide the gas - if the tank is empty, there is a place in Custer to fill it for cheap). During the day explore one of the many wonders of the Black Hills. There's our personal favorite Jewel Cave, also Custer State Park, Wind Cave, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore, Needles Highway and more. Custer has many wonderful restaurant choices you will be sure to enjoy. The property has a playhouse and swings, yard games, horseshoe pit, patio furniture, and hammock. Take a stroll on the country roads in the neighborhood, or out in the adjoining National Forest. Great wildlife, trees, birds and nature. Michelson Trail is not far (to a trail head). We are constantly making improvements at the property. This winter we put in new windows in the sunroom, and replaced the old brown siding with cool metal siding. We will be staining the trim come spring to match the cabin. We have added a porch swing to the new back covered deck.

Also included is an attached, enclosed 2 car garage to keep your ride dry and safe during your stay. Main Bedroom has a King size bed with matching dresser for convenient clothes storage during your stay. The Main Bedroom has an en-suite that, if desired, can be accessed (or shut off) from the hallway. This bathroom has an oversized tub and separate shower. 2nd Bedroom has a Queen size bed, dresser and closet. 3rd Bedroom is equipped with a bunk bed that is full size on both top and bottom with a single trundle underneath. The interior of our cabin is just a few years old and still looking fresh and new! This 3 bedroom 2 bath log cabin offers over 1500 square feet of vacationing space. The interior of the cabin is modern with some rustic flair and offers a clean, fresh space to relax. Located on one private acre, the back yard has direct access to the Mickelson Trail and overlooks a private horse ranch. There are two queen beds, 3 single beds (NOT bunkbeds) and a queen-sized pull out sleeper. We also have a roll-away bed that can be placed in one of the bedrooms or in the living area.
